Community Conversation: Youth Voices – How Parents, Educators, and Mentors Can Support Youth Right Now

Thanks to everyone who joined us on March 17th, 2021 as we came together as a community to create space for a discussion of the importance of youth activism, leadership, and listening to our young people – especially in times of crisis and immense change. We heard from several youth activists about what they feel is important to advancing gender and racial equity work and how parents, teachers, and mentors can support young people looking to use their platform and influence for good.

This community conversation was moderated by organizer and activist Mary Pat Hector and features the perspectives of teen leaders in gender and racial justice, including Michelle Zheng, Ayman Siam, Akhila Chilakala, Azul Navarrete-Valera, and Chad Henry. Watch the full video below:
