On June 12, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m., A Call to Men invites you to a powerful, virtual event honoring the men who work to reimagine the narrative around fatherhood. In “Celebrating Healthy Fatherhood,” we’ll hear inspiring stories from fathers and father figures who embody healthy masculinity and lead with love and responsibility.

This year’s honorees:

Kalvin Bridgewater

Kalvin Bridgewater is a dedicated father, advocate, and community leader based in Dallas, Texas. He is the founder of Daddy Stroller Social Club, a unique and impactful organization committed to raising awareness about postpartum depression in fathers and creating a supportive space for dads navigating the emotional challenges of parenthood.

 

 

 

 

Bryan Hilburn

Driven by a deep passion for helping middle school boys reach their full potential, Mr. Bryan Hilburn, founded Hills Academy in 2017—a private Christian school for boys located in Rockdale County. He currently serves as Headmaster and is committed to partnering with families and the community to deliver a high-quality, purpose-driven educational experience that positively impacts every student.

 

 

 

 

Michael Takahara

Michael Kenji “Maka” Takahara is a bicycle-loving, guitar-playing, Christian, husband, father, brother, son, comic book nerd, and Health Educator (currently specializing in positive psychology interventions) at the University of California, Santa Barbara. As a father, his latest goal has been to better listen to his children. They’ve taught him how to deal with social anxiety, depression, and mental illness in this modern age. They have also taught him how to find joy in animals, art, non-binaryness, and compliments. Being a parent, like life, isn’t easy. According to Takahara, growth happens when things don’t go as he expects or wants. He feels that his life is way more compassionate, other-centered, and full of love because of his children. He considers them to be life’s greatest teachers.

 

 

Dr. Jed Diamond

Dr. Jed Diamond is one of the world’s leading experts in Gender Medicine and Men’s Health. He has written seventeen books, including international best-seller, Looking for Love in All the Wrong Places: Overcoming Romantic and Sexual Addictions and more! His most recent book, Long Live Men! The Moonshot Mission to Heal Men, Close the Lifespan Gap, and Offer Hope to Humanity was published in 2023. In addition to English, his books have been translated into 17 foreign languages. For more than 50 years, he has been a pioneer in the field of gender-specific medicine, healing trauma, and men’s health.Jed and his wife Carlin have been married for forty-five years. They are proud parents of six children, seventeen grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
