“On some level a white man is not free until a Black woman is free,” Porter said on the episode. “But it really depends on how he’s defining freedom. Because if he’s defining freedom from an external perspective or a materialistic perspective, he’s fine. He can say I’m good over here. But if he’s defining freedom from his soul, and what it means to be in line with each other from that perspective, then he’s jammed up, he’s locked down, he’s in prison in many respects.”
