
Delores Hunter (she, her, hers)
Delores Hunter is a licensed clinical social worker currently employed with the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS). As a trainer for special projects, she facilitates classes for the NYPD’s Crisis Intervention Training program. Delores along with a team of NYPD trainers facilitate classes at the New York City Police Academy in Flushing, Queens. The program focuses on teaching uniformed members of service how to recognize symptoms of mental illness, and teach communication skills to help deescalate mentally distressed people in crisis. Delores is a recent retiree from the NYC Department of Probation, where she was employed for over 20 years. Delores is most energized when working to prevent violence and discrimination against women and girls. As a trainer with A Call to Men for more than eight years, Delores has been an important part of raising awareness of healthy, respectful manhood. She has worked with men and boys of all ages, including athletes and players in the National Football League, business men, educators, grass roots organizations, government officials, high school and college students, and many others.
