Joseph Maldonado

Joseph Maldonado is an anti-racist community organizer and educator. Joseph has been a member of the faculty at John Jay College for six years, where he has the opportunity to be an accountable/liberated gatekeeper through organizing, developing leadership, and working with students as they gain a sense of their power. Joseph received training, supervision, and mentorship by CONNECT, an NYC gender violence prevention organization, and he continues his work as an anti-violence educator with CONNECT and A Call to Men. He specializes in moving men and boys from bystanders to allies, and eventually activist-organizers.  Joseph is also an anti-racist organizer with The People’s Institute for Survival and Beyond. He received a master’s degree in social work from New York University’s School of Social Work. He is SIFI certified and has supervised many social work students over the years.
